New Delhi, Nov. 17 -- The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Central Government, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking clear regulations and an independent mechanism to control unpredictable airfare hikes and additional charges imposed by private airlines.
A Bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta sought responses from the union of India, DGCA, and AERA within four weeks on the petition filed by social activist Laxminarayanan.
