New Delhi, Dec. 11 -- The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday sought detailed affidavits from Punjab National Bank (PNB) and State Bank of India (SBI) on whether a petitioner who claims he has never taken a loan has been wrongly assigned a negative CIBIL score.

A Bench comprising Justice K.V. Viswanathan and Justice S.V.N. Bhatti was hearing a plea filed by Rajendra Singh Panwar, who alleged that his credit rating has been shown as negative since 2020 despite having no outstanding loans or defaults.

He asserted that this erroneous score has prevented him from accessing essential financial facilities.
