New Delhi, Nov. 12 -- The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the governments of Punjab and Haryana to submit detailed reports on the steps taken to curb stubble burning, amid the continuing deterioration of air quality in the National Capital Region (NCR).
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran passed the order after being informed that Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) had been invoked in Delhi following alarming pollution levels.
"Let Punjab and Haryana governments respond on steps taken to control stubble burning," the Court directed, listing the matter for further hearing on November 17.
