New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- Observing that there was no significant improvement in air quality even when a complete ban was in force, except during the COVID-19 lockdown, the Supreme Court today allowed the limited sale and use of green firecrackers in the Delhi-NCR region during Diwali festival.
A bench comprising Chief Justice BR Gavai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran relaxed the blanket ban earlier imposed by the Delhi government and extended across NCR, permitting the sale and bursting of green firecrackers between October 18 and October 21.
