New Delhi, Feb. 24 -- The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Soren, who is accused of raping a woman.
A Bench comprising Justice Bela M Trivedi and Justice KV Viswanathan noted that the case against Soren had been pending since 2022 and stated that he could not evade arrest.
"Your case has been committed before the trial court in 2022. You can't evade arrest like this. You have to respect court proceedings. Sorry, dismissed," the Court remarked.
