New Delhi, July 17 -- The Supreme Court today expressed strong reservations over a petition seeking the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against sitting judges of the Delhi High Court for their judicial decisions.

A bench comprising justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi questioned the maintainability of the plea and asked the petitioner's counsel under what law judges could be prosecuted for delivering judgments.

"Tell us under which law judges are liable to be prosecuted for giving judgments against you. Just because there are illegal or perverse petitions being filed, you cannot ask for FIRs against judges," the bench observed.
