New Delhi, May 15 -- The Supreme Court on Wednesday quashed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) against retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer M S Jaffar Sait, effectively putting an end to money laundering proceedings initiated against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
A bench, comprising Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan, reviewed a report submitted by the Registrar General of the Madras High Court, revealing procedural irregularities in the High Court's handling of the case.
