New Delhi, April 9 -- The Supreme Court came down heavily on the central government for
failing to formulate a scheme ensuring cashless medical treatment for motor accident victims during the crucial "golden hour."
The Court expressed deep concern over the non-compliance of its earlier order and summoned the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to explain the delay.
A bench, comprising Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan, on Tuesday strongly objected to the Centre's failure to act on its January eight directive.
"The time granted has expired on March 15, 2025. This is a serious breach and violation of not only orders of this Court but also a failure in implementing a very beneficial legislation," the Court noted.
