New Delhi, July 17 -- In a dramatic child custody dispute, the Supreme Court today issued stringent directions to trace a five-year-old child who has gone missing along with his Russian mother, warning that the law will take its own course against all involved, including embassy officials if necessary.

A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi was informed that the Russian mother and the child had "vanished into wilderness" after the mother failed to comply with previous court orders granting shared custody to the Indian father.
