New Delhi, July 6 -- The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition alleging 'pick and choose' policy by its registry besides discriminating among lawyers in listings.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 100 on the petitioner, a lawyer.

A division bench of Justice Arun Mishra dismissed the PIL filed by lawyer Reepak Kansal in which the lawyer had accused the Supreme Court registry of favouritism towards influential lawyers and law firms by following a policy of 'pick and choose' to list their cases for hearing.

Mr Kansal had also urged the bench in his petition to direct its Registry to work in an impartial and fair manner.
