New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- The Supreme Court was informed today that the West Bengal government and the Governor have reached an agreement on the recommendation of eight more candidates for appointment as Vice Chancellors (VCs) in state universities.
A bench, comprising Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi, hearing the ongoing matter related to VC appointments, noted that there was no impediment to the appointment of VCs in eight universities -- Calcutta University, Biswa Bangla Biswabidyalaya, Sadhu Ram Chand Murmu University of Jhargram, Gour Banga University, Kazi Nazrul University, Jadavpur University, Raiganj University, and North Bengal University.
