New Delhi, Sept. 22 -- The State of Telangana today told the Supreme Court that former state intelligence officer T. Prabhakar Rao, prime accused in the phone tapping case, wiped his iPhones and an official laptop while enjoying interim protection from arrest.

Appearing for the State, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submitted that this amounted to destruction of digital evidence during the pendency of proceedings before both the High Court and the Supreme Court.

He referred to a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report dated August 29, 2025, which found that Rao's devices had been factory reset on April 5, June 10, and July 15, 2025, dates when his anticipatory bail plea was pending before the High Court, and later when interim protection ...
