New Delhi, Dec. 19 -- The Supreme Court on Friday extended the police custody of former Telangana Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) chief T. Prabhakar Rao till December 25 in connection with the alleged phone-tapping case, while directing that no coercive steps be taken against him until the matter is heard again.
A Bench comprising Justice B.V. Nagarathna and Justice R. Mahadevan ordered that Rao be released from custody after the completion of his interrogation on December 26. The case has been posted for further hearing on January 16, 2026.
