New Delhi, Dec. 22 -- The Supreme Court today declined to grant urgent listing to a petition seeking to restrain Prime Minister Narendra Modi from offering a ceremonial 'chadar' at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah during the 814th Urs of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti, saying that no urgent interference was warranted.

The plea was mentioned before a vacation Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi.

Counsel appearing for the petitioner urged the Court to stay the proposed ceremonial offering, submitting that a related petition concerning the Sankat Mochan Mandir at Ajmer was already pending adjudication.
