New Delhi, Dec. 9 -- The Supreme Court today declined to grant an extension of the deadline for submission of enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Kerala, amid the ongoing local body election process.
The Court said it would revisit the matter on December 18, the current deadline fixed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi was hearing petitions filed by the State of Kerala and various political parties seeking postponement of the SIR process in light of simultaneous local body elections.
