Chandigarh, Nov. 12 -- Political tensions in Punjab have deepened after the Scheduled Castes Commission directed police to arrest Congress state president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring within ten days for allegedly making caste-based remarks against former union Home Minister Buta Singh.
Commission chairman Jasbir Singh Garhi summoned Kapurthala DSP Hargurdev Singh to Chandigarh to explain the delay in the case. During the hearing, the DSP said that certain technical procedures, including forensic verification of the video evidence, were still underway and could take about a week.
