New Delhi, Jan. 9 -- The Supreme Court has permitted the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Board (JKCB) elections, scheduled for January 16, 2026, to go ahead as per schedule, but restrained the declaration of results until further orders, after taking serious note of allegations of fraud and manipulation of the electoral rolls.

A Bench, comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta, on Thursday passed the interim order while issuing notice on a writ petition filed by 19 out of 25 affiliated cricket clubs, alleging large-scale irregularities by members of the BCCI-appointed Sub-Committee managing the affairs of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
