New Delhi, Aug. 8 -- The Supreme Court today agreed to list for early hearing the bail plea of Dalit rights activist and advocate Surendra Gadling, arrested in July 2018 in connection with the Bhima Koregaon case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) over alleged Maoist links. Senior Advocate Anand Grover, representing Gadling, mentioned the matter before a Bench led by Chief Justice B.R. Gavai and Justices K. Vinod Chandran and N.V. Anjaria. He pointed out that the Special Leave Petition has been pending before the apex court since October 2023 and that Gadling has spent more than six years in custody."This has been adjourned 11 times.
