New Delhi, July 31 -- Senior IPS officer SBK Singh has been given the additional charge of Delhi Police Commissioner.

According to a Home Ministry order issued today, Singh, a 1988-batch AGMUT cadre officer, will take over as Delhi Police Commissioner from August 1, serving till further orders. Currently, Singh is the Director General of Delhi Home Guards.

Meanwhile, the incumbent Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora retired today. He was honoured with a farewell ceremonial parade at the Parade Ground of New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp, in Delhi.
