Mumbai, July 11 -- Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, today pleaded 'not guilty' in the criminal defamation complaint filed against him for allegedly making 'defamatory' speech against right-wing leader Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in London.

Special court of First-Class Magistrate Amol Shriram Shinde in Pune recorded the plea of his lawyer Milind Pawar on behalf of Rahul Gandhi, who could not appear before the court but authorised Adv Pawar to make submission on behalf of him.
