Riyadh/New Delhi, May 10 -- Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan spoke on the phone today with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and FM Ishaq Dar, calling for de-escalation of tensions and end to the military confrontation.

According to a statement, "During the calls, discussions focused on efforts to de-escalate tensions and end ongoing military confrontations.

"Prince Faisal affirmed the Kingdom's commitment to the security and stability of the region and its close and balanced relations with both friendly countries."

The phone call to India and Pakistan follows the visit of Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, to India and Pakistan on May 8 and 9.
