New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Senior IPS officer, Satish Golcha has been appointed as the new Delhi Commissioner of Police, an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs said here today.

Golcha is a 1992 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre and is presently posted as the Director General (Prisons), Delhi.

He will hold the position from the date of assumption of the charge and until further order, the statement added.

Golcha replaces acting Commissioner of Delhi police, SBK Singh (IPS), Director General of Home Guards who was holding additional charge of the post.
