New Delhi/Kolkata, Sept. 8 -- Sankarshan Thakur, a distinguished journalist and editor, has died, leaving behind a legacy of incisive reporting and editorial excellence, his family confirmed here today.

He was 63 and was admitted to a hospital in Gurugram and had undergone surgery recently.

Thakur was widely respected for his fearless commentary and commitment to truth. known for his sharp political insights and evocative writing, he served as the national affairs editor at The Telegraph and was appointed its editor in 2023.
