Ranchi, March 14 -- union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Saturday denied reports of shortage of LPG cylinders and petroleum products and accused the Congress and some ministers of the Jharkhand government of spreading confusion among the public.

Addressing a press conference here, Seth said there was no shortage of LPG, petrol or diesel in the country and supplies at petrol pumps and gas agencies were normal.

He alleged that rumours about shortage were creating panic among people and claimed that the number of LPG booking requests had increased from about 55 lakh per day to over 75 lakh due to panic buying.

Seth said supplies were normal at more than one lakh petrol pumps and around 25,000 gas agencies across the country. ...
