Patna, March 11 -- Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Sanjay Saraogi on Wednesday paid tribute to freedom fighter Jubba Sahni on his martyrdom day and said his courage and determination inspired the country's freedom struggle.

Speaking at a function organised here, Saraogi said the bravery shown by Sahni during the attack on Minapur police station on August 16, 1942 shook the British administration.

He said a special court set up by the British government later sentenced Sahni to death and he was hanged at Bhagalpur Central Jail at the age of 38.

Saraogi said Sahni, who was born in a poor family, never bowed before injustice and sacrificed his life for the country.
