Mumbai, Oct. 31 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has announced a temporary pause from public and political activities due to health concerns, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending wishes for his recovery.

Responding to the Prime Minister's message, Raut said, "Respected Prime Minister Ji, thank you! My family is grateful to you! Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra!"Raut had earlier declared today that he would be stepping back from public life for two months on medical advice. Prime Minister Modi wished him "Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji." prompting a cordial exchange between the two leaders despite being on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
