Sangli, Dec. 29 -- Three labourers died and five others were hospitalised after inhaling toxic fumes while cleaning a septic tank at a private company in Maharashtra's Sangli district, police said on Monday. A negligence case has been registered against the company.
The incident occurred in the premises of Bombay Rayon Company, located between Waghavadi Phata and Peth Naka on the Pune-Bengaluru Asian International Highway in Islampur, Sangli.
According to Islampur Police Inspector Somanath Wagha, the tragedy unfolded on Sunday evening when the workers entered the tank one after another for cleaning.
