Kolkata, July 2 -- Rajya Sabha member Samik Bhattacharya today filed his nomination papers for the post of president of BJP's West Bengal unit in the presence of incumbent and Union minister Sukanta Majumdar and leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari in their party office at Salt Lake in the city.

Filing of papers by 61-year-old BJP spokesperson took place hours after a phone call from party's national president Jagat Prakash Nadda to the state functionaries asking them to ensure submission of Bhattacharya's nomination for the post of the Bengal unit president on schedule.

Bhattacharya, who was camping in New Delhi, arrived this morning and filed his nomination papers in the presence of Majumdar and Adhikari and other senior leaders.
