Kolkata, July 3 -- Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Samik Bhattacharya has been declared president of the BJP's West Bengal unit.

The announcement was made at the Science City auditorium in the city, amid the blowing of conch shells and ululation by women members of the party.
Prasad stated that only one nomination was received from Bhattacharya, which proved the party's discipline, similar to 20 other states where elections were held unopposed.
