Bhubaneswar, Nov. 24 -- The naturally captivating Sambalpur Zoo is set to undergo a significant transformation, with the union government announcing plans to convert it into a mid-sized zoo.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan made the announcement on Monday while laying foundation stones for several development projects at the zoo.
Pradhan stated that the double-engine government has recently decided to upgrade the zoo, and the first phase of development has already begun with an allocation of around Rs.5 crore.
As part of the expansion, the union Minister laid foundation stones for the tiger enclosure, crocodile enclosure, and gharial enclosure.
