Thrissur, Oct. 29 -- A rare and historic four-day Samaveda Murajapa Mahayajna has commenced at the Panjal Sree Lakshminarayana Temple in Kerala's Thrissur as part of the temple's annual festival celebrations.
What makes this year's Murajapa particularly significant is the complete recitation of the Jaiminiya Samaveda - the first such full rendition in 60 years. Unlike regular rituals, which typically feature selected portions, this event involves the entire Samaveda Samhita, chanted entirely from memory.
The continuous chanting is expected to last around 72 hours, highlighting the temple's importance as a hub of Vedic tradition.
