Mumbai, Dec. 16 -- Samajwadi Party Maharashtra unit president Abu Azmi on Tuesday strongly criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over an incident in which he was seen pulling down the hijab of a Muslim woman doctor during an official function in Patna, and demanded a public apology from him.

Reacting to a video of the incident that has gone viral on social media, Azmi said he was deeply saddened by the Chief Minister's conduct. He stated that such behaviour from a senior political leader who has served multiple terms as Chief Minister was unacceptable and disrespectful towards a woman.
