Srinagar, May 28 -- Peoples Conference President and Handwara MLA, Sajad Lone, on Wednesday issued a stern warning regarding the Jammu and Kashmir government's current reservation policies, predicting significant societal repercussions.
Lone described the approach as a "post-dated cheque for disaster."
"The issue of reservations is poised to come up for discussion again. I'm honest when I say I don't have a lot of hope," Lone stated.
He criticised the government's newly formed committee on reservations, labelling it "typical run-of-the-mill, time-buying, excuse-making bureaucratic gibberish." Lone predicted the committee would either delay its report further, issue an ambiguous statement, or recommend forming yet another committee.
