Aizawl, Dec. 16 -- The newly inaugurated Sairang Railway Station has handled its first direct inward automobile rake, with 119 Maruti Suzuki vehicles arriving from Changsari near Guwahati, the Ministry of Railways said on Monday.
Calling the development a milestone, the Ministry said the movement is expected to improve vehicle availability in Aizawl, reduce reliance on long-haul road transport and provide a boost to Mizoram's automobile sector, including dealers, service centres and consumers. The operation was described as a significant step in strengthening the State's infrastructure and economic connectivity.
