New Delhi, Feb. 26 -- Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday underscored the urgent need to rebuild public trust in media and digital ecosystems, asserting that online platforms must assume greater responsibility for content hosted on their networks amid rising threats from deepfakes, disinformation and cyber fraud.

Delivering the keynote address at the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) Conclave in the national capital, the Minister described the global media landscape as being at "an inflection in the entire world of media," stressing that decisions made today will shape the future of information systems for years.
