Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 4 -- A tribute will be paid to acclaimed filmmaker Saeed Akhtar Mirza at the upcoming 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) through the screening of three of his landmark works in the retrospective section.
The selection features Naseem (1996)-winner of two National Film Awards; Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro, which secured the 37th National Award for Best Hindi Film; and Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan, another influential title from Mirza's celebrated filmography.
Naseem reflects the mounting communal tensions in Mumbai during the six months leading up to the demolition of the Babri Masjid, portraying them through the tender relationship between 15-year-old Naseem and her grandfather in a Muslim household.
