Chandigarh, June 26 -- Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who was arrested on Wednesday, was remanded in 7-day police custody by a Mohali court today. Majithia was produced before a Mohali court amid tight security. Police had barricaded the road leading to the court as a number of SAD supporters had gathered there.

Sources said that some of the supporters were detained.

Vigilance Bureau officials had raided Majithia's Amritsar house early Wednesday morning. Majithia was present in the house and he confronted the officials.

Ruling Aam Aadmi Party leaders maintained that the Vigilance Bureau raids were conducted under the 'War on Drugs' campaign of the government.
