New Delhi, Sept. 28 -- The Delhi unit of Shiromani Akali Dal on Monday asked its members to resign from their respective posts in the municipal corporations that were in alliance with the BJP, and not to have any relations with the BJP and NDA, after the the SAD severed its alliance with the NDA over the new Farmer Welfare laws.

Addressing a press conference, SAD's Delhi Unit chief Harmeet Singh Kalka said the decision was taken in the core committee meeting of the party unit here, where the future course of action was also discussed.

He said the party's unit in Delhi is in support of its national leadership, as SAD has always stood with the farmers and raised the voice in their favour and will continue to do the same in the future.
