Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 10 -- Kandararu Rajeevaru, the chief priest (Tantri) of the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital on Saturday after his health condition deteriorated.
Rajeevaru developed health complications while in judicial custody following his arrest by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged loss of gold from the Sabarimala temple.
He was first taken to the General Hospital after complaining of discomfort and was later referred to the Medical College Hospital for specialised care, sources said.
Doctors stated that he was shifted to the ICU due to elevated blood pressure and related complications.
