Los Angeles, May 25 -- Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, the force behind MCU's billion-dollar R rated (18+) blockbuster 'Deadpool & Wolverine', has revealed he pitched an idea to the company for an R rated 'Star Wars' project to Disney-but the company wasn't game.
Speaking on The Box Office podcast, Reynolds said the concept wasn't built around shock value or graphic content, but aimed to tap into a more emotionally complex side of the 'Star Wars' universe.
"I pitched to Disney, I said, 'Why don't we do an R-rated Star Wars property?'" he recalled. "It doesn't have to focus on major, A-list characters-there's a wide range to explore. And I don't mean R-rated to be crude. I mean R-rated as a Trojan horse for emotion."
