Botswana, July 28 -- Rwanda and Sierra Leone have kept their ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 hopes alive, surviving the eight-team Africa Division 2 Qualifier in Botswana.

The two teams finished in top spot in their respective four team groups, before going on to win their semi-final matches to seal their spots for the next round.

Both sides qualified for the semi-finals after perfect records in the group stage, with Rwanda then defeating the hosts by 35 runs and defending 99 to qualify, and Sierra Leone defeating Malawi, chasing 101 with 28 balls to spare.

Rwanda went on to claim tournament bragging rights, beating Sierra Leone by 51 runs in the final, led by Gisele Ishimwe's 44 (28) and Belise Murekatete 2/9 (3).
