Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 9 -- A Russian woman on holiday in Kerala was bitten by a stray dog at Kovalam's Lighthouse Beach, triggering safety concerns among tourists.

The victim, identified as Paulina, sustained injuries on her leg and was initially treated at the Vizhinjam Primary Health Centre before being referred to the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital for further medical care on Saturday, sources said.

Paulina had arrived in Kerala with plans to stay for nearly three months. She had also holidayed in the state last year and said she chose to return because of her earlier positive experience. However, following the incident, she expressed deep distress and said she was reconsidering her stay.
