Moscow, Sept. 2 -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the West of abusing its hold on the dollar to suppress its opponents, or otherwise influence economic policies of countries it is on odds with by way of sanctions, tariffs, and other such measures to bend it on terms favourable to them.

Lavrov remarked that the West in its opposition to the emergence of a new multipolar world order, doing everything possible to prevent this, even "resorting to direct blackmail, pressure, and sanctions, rather than negotiations and fair competition," reports TASS.
