Moscow, June 29 -- Slamming the West, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Sunday that they would never be able to secure a strategic victory over Russia by using Ukraine as a proxy, reports Russia's state-owned-media TASS.

"We have very close ties in all areas, and they are of particular importance, especially in the current very difficult and radically changed international situation, when we are witnessing an unprecedented confrontation between our country and the collective West, which has decided once again to go to war against us and inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, using the Nazi regime in Kiev as a ram.
