Moscow, Oct. 16 -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has firmly rejected speculation about Moscow forming a possible alliance with the US to persuade China to join denuclearisation talks, stating that the Kremlin will never forge partnerships for targeting a third party.
In late September, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested to his US counterpart, Donald Trump, that the two countries prolong by another year the last remaining arms control deal between them - the New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) arrangement - which is set to expire on February 5, 2026.
