Moscow, Sept. 24 -- The oppression of Russian speakers in the Baltic countries violates all the norms of the old European "civilization," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky told Sputnik.

"In the same vein, I would like to mention the increasingly harsh oppression of Russian-speaking people in the Baltics in violation of all conceivable norms of the old European 'civilization,'" Lyubinsky said.

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said earlier this year that the Baltic states have no achievements in implementing any important, peaceful or development-oriented international initiatives.
