United Nations, July 25 -- Russia requests a meeting of the UN Security Council on the topic of Ukraine for July 31, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy said on Friday.

"We will discuss this [Ukraine's crackdown on anti-corruption agencies] in detail at a separate meeting we requested for the 31st of July," Polyanskiy said during a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine, which was requested by the Western countries of the Council.

At the upcoming meeting, Russia also plans to expose Ukraine's actions that "undermine" the quest for a diplomatic solution, he added.
