Moscow, Feb. 26 -- Preparations are underway for the launch of major investment projects focused on rare earth metals in Russia's Murmansk and Irkutsk regions and the Sakha Republic, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"Preparations for the launch of the largest investment projects in the Murmansk Region, Irkutsk Region, Yakutia and other regions are underway. These projects will address the key needs of Russian industry for strategic raw materials and, in the future, for high value-added products based on them," the ministry said.

The ministry also revealed plans to establish a full production cycle for rare earth metals by 2030, ensuring Russia's raw material and technological sovereignty.
