New Delhi, Dec. 4 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov on Thursday co-chaired the 22nd session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation in the national capital, reiterating that bilateral defence ties remain anchored in deep trust, shared principles and mutual respect.
The meeting, held at the Manekshaw Centre, saw both sides explore new avenues of collaboration in niche defence technologies, with Russia expressing readiness to support India's push towards self-reliance in defence production, ahead of the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin.
