Moscow/Washington, Feb. 6 -- Criticising the US for ignoring its proposal on the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), Russia has decried the US position, calling it "regrettable" as uncertainty continues to loom over the future of nuclear arms control.
Speaking in Geneva, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations and other international organisations, Gennady Gatilov, said that Moscow has received no official proposals from the White House regarding renewing negotiations to reduce nuclear arsenals.
He added that Russia remains open to political and diplomatic avenues to stabilise the strategic situation but will shape its approach based on a "careful analysis" of US military policy, reports TASS.
